Spiros Lambouras

Percussion

He was born in Corfu in 1976, where he had his first contact with music, playing at the Philharmonic Society of Corfu Band. He has been a Nikolaos Koratzinos’ student from 1991 to 1997 at the Athens Conservatory, where he graduated with high distinction. In 2003 he attended lessons in the class of Carlos Tarcha, percussionist professor in Colony in Germany. He is a member of the Athens State Orchestra since 1992, as a percussionist. In 1999 he worked at the Athens State Orchestra as a principal timpanist and from 2004 he has the place of a permanent Principal Timpanist in that orchestra.
He is also a member of the brass ensemble “Metallon” and “Duo Arsis” and has co-operated with “Piano Duo Antithesis” and performed in the Heraklion Festival and the Athens Festival. Since 2008 he co-organizes chamber music concerts with primary topic, percussions, together with other instruments. In this context he has co-operated with a lot of remarkable musicians and has performed premiers of Foreign and Greek composers such as, V. Tenidis and S. Gyftakis. In March 2013 he participated, as a solist, in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Athens State Orchestra with a concert for Snare drum – premiere – by Theodoros Antoniou “Just Drumming “. The work is dedicated to the soloist and has received positive reviews. He teaches percussion at Hellenic Conservatory in Athens and Heraklion of Creta Municipal Odeon.
