Choir of the Orthodox Church of Agios Nikolaos of Ermoupolis

It was founded in 1920 during the Hierarchy of Cyrus Methodius Papanastasopoulos, by a group of enthusiastic young people from Ermoupolis, with the first Director being the cantor Augustinos Nafpliotis and then, in chronological order: Ioannis Samsonidis, Spyros Panagopoulos, Antonis Bonis and Georgios Zannis. In 1960, the Mixed Choir was created, which in recent years has appeared once a year, on Holy Tuesday, singing the troparion of Saint Kassiani by N. Mantzaros, accompanied by the organ that was donated to the Church of Saint Nicholas in 1968. In 1972, Takis Dendrinos, who also accompanied the choir on the organ, took over as Director. Today, the choir is directed by maestro Yannis Argyriou, a member of the choir since 1959.
