Representing the Hierarchy of the Catholic Church in Greece, His Excellency Petros Stefanou, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Syros, attended the Spring Synod of the Italian Catholic Church Hierarchy, which was held in Rome under the Presidency of Pope Francis.
During his stay in the Italian capital, His Excellency Petros Stefanou made some important contacts for the future of the ANO International Organ Festival, which has been organized since 2017 at St. George’s Cathedral, Ano Syros, by the Catholic Diocese of Syros and the Syros Greek Catholic Association.
During his meeting with Gianluca Libertucci, οrganist for the Vicariate of the Vatican City at St. Peter’s Basilica, who is already known to the audience of Syros, new collaborations and ways to support the Festival were discussed. Another meeting with Marco Morricone, included considering the prospect of presenting -at a forthcoming event- the unique composition written for organ and orchestra by his famous father, Ennio Morricone.
