Born in Ostrava (1975). From the age of five years, he devoted himself to play the piano and later studied organ with prof. Jan Marek. After graduating implemented numerous concert performances at home and abroad (Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands). He is a graduate of Musicology at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague. During his studies in musicology, he devoted himself also studied composition under famous Czech composer Eduard Dousa. Since 1998 he served as the main organist in St. Ignatius church in Prague until 2001. Since 2003 he develops his artistic activity as titular organist at the St. James church in Beroun, as well as the organist of the Royal Collegiate Chapter of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in the castle Karlstejn. He has perfomed as a liturgical organist in Collegio Internazionale del Gesù in Rome. In 2005 he composed a series of songs of liturgical music for the Radio Vaticana. He also works as a teacher on High School of Mala Strana in Prague (history, music and human right focused primarily on the rights of minorities). In 2007 Archbishop of Prague, Cardinal Miloslav Vlk, appointed him a member of the liturgical commission and officially appointed him as a liturgical organist in 2009. That same year, the Pontifical Society for liturgical music Universa Laus in Rome called him for continued cooperation. Lucas Petrvalsky produces and moderates TV programs about organ and liturgical music as well. Since 2019 he has been the dramaturg of the International music festival Talichuv Beroun. He is known as improviser and composer. In his works he does not aim at finding new ways of musical expression. His compositions are based on traditional elements that build up in new contexts, musical language clearly reflects the Gregorian chant, modality and traditional forms.
