Conductor
Born in Athens in 1968. He studied violin at the Athens Conservatory and graduated in 1989 with the soloist diploma, earning the highest honors. He continued his postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, graduating in 1990 with the diploma of advanced studies and afterwords at the Royal College of Music with the distinguished violinist Grigory Zhislin. In 1992 he graduated with the postgraduate diploma, ARCM. In both institutes, he followed lessons of conducting as a second study. Then, he followed the postgraduate Conducting course at the Trinity College of Music with Peter Stark and graduated in 1999. He has also taken conducting lessons and master classes with Sergiu Celibidache and Jorma Panula. He has so far conducted: the Athens and the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestras, the Athens Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Athens National Opera Orchestra, the Thüringen Symphoniker, the Cyprus State Symphony Orchestra, the Astana Symphony Orchestra, the Swedish Musica Vitae, the Istanbul, the Antalya, the Izmir, the Bursa and the Çukurova State Orchestras in Turkey, the Eskişehir Symphony Orchestra, the Danish Royal Orchestra, the Estonian Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta, the Athens and the Thessaloniki Municipality Symphony Orchestras, the Bodrum and the Karsiyaka Municipality Orchestras, the Immling festival orchestra and many other minor Orchestras and ensembles. Since 2016 he is Artistic Director of the “MousiKos” International Music Festival in South Aegean Islands. Since 2018 he is Artistic Director and Conductor of the Athens Camerata Junior Symphony Orchestra, based in the Athens Concert Hall and since 2021 he is Artistic Director of the “D.Kremastinos” International Music Festival in Halki island.
