Nikolia Garoufalidou

Violin

Born in 2009, she is a scholarship student at the Athens College Conservatory, where she began her studies with Mr Panagiotopoulos. Since 2020, she has been studying with Prof. Kirill Troussov, and regularly takes part in his masterclasses throughout Europe. She has attended masterclasses at the Casa Stradivari Foundation in Cremona with artists-in-residence So-Ock Kim and Fabriccio Von Arx, and in Greece with Katerina Chatzinikolaou, as well as the prestigious seminar offered by Leonidas Kavakos, where she was awarded a scholarship. She is first violin for the Athens College Symphony Orchestra and holds numerous platinum, gold and diamond medals from more than 20 international competitions. She has made more than 10 appearances as a soloist with orchestras and at many recitals for piano and violin. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestra at the Athens Concert Hall (soloist début), at Stavros Niarchos Hall (Greek National Opera), in Brescia, Italy (soloist with the master orchestra as winner of the talent music festival), in Rhodes (with the Athens State Orchestra) and accompanied by piano at Mitropoulos Hall at the Athens Concert Hall, at Beethoven House, in Bonn, Germany, at the Salzburg Solitär Mozarteum, Austria, and at the Klein zaal Concertgebouw, in the Netherlands. She regularly takes part in festivals as a soloist, including the MousiKos Festival (as a soloist with the Athens State Orchestra), attended by then-President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, and she was invited in October 2023 to appear at a concert staged by diaNEOsis and the Friends of Music Society at a “think tank” event at the Athens Concert Hall. She plays a violin made in 1710 by Joseph Guarnerius filius Andreae, lent to her by an international trust.
